North America is in Earth’s northern hemisphere. The farthest north parts of the continent are very cold. The southern parts of the continent have hot weather.

The tropical parts of Central America have many animals that are not in other parts of North America. Toucans are common in Costa Rica. There are six types of toucans that live in Costa Rica. They live in rainforests and lowlands near the Caribbean Sea.
