TITLE

A park ranger for Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, explains how Benjamin Franklin used a printing press. Franklin worked as a printer when he was young. That is when he taught himself how to write and started his own newspaper.

Franklin drew this cartoon in 1754 in his newspaper, The Pennsylvania Gazette. It was the first cartoon about politics in an American newspaper. It was printed in other newspapers. Franklin wanted the colonies to join together.
