TITLE

The player with the ball tries to run into the end zone. But players on the other team try to stop him. They may push him out of bounds. Or they may try to tackle him. Tackling is when a player knocks the ball carrier to the ground.

A football field is divided by yard lines. A line runs across the field every five yards. These lines help players know how close they are to the end zone. Shorter lines mark each single yard. The end zones do not have yard lines.
