A 3-D printer prints a small, orange vase. 3-D printers can print many different objects. They can use different materials. 3-D printers use build objects one thin layer at a time.

This 5-year-old boy got a 3-D printed hand at a hospital in China. The boy’s hand was burned in a fire in 2013. He got a new 3-D printed hand in 2015.
