Some people who keep chickens choose special breeds. One popular type is the Silkie chicken. They are smaller than most chickens with soft, fluffy feathers throughout their life. Even their heads are covered in a tuft of fluffy feathers called a crest. Unlike most chickens, Silkies have five toes instead of four. They are gentle and friendly chickens. Silkie chicken eggs are small.
