TITLE

Wild turkeys are one of only two kinds of birds that were domesticated in the United States. Domesticating means taking a wild animal and training it to be live on a farm or as a pet. American Indians domesticated turkeys nearly 3,000 years ago. Today, wild turkeys live in every state besides Alaska. They almost became the national bird of the United States  instead of the bald eagle.
