Caracals have amazing ears. There are over 20 muscles in each one. Their ears can move independently of each other. They turn, lean, flex, and flap. Caracals flap their ears to swat flies away from their face. Their ears also help track prey. Scientists believe the tufts might be used to communicate with other caracals.
