Power lines transfer electricity over long distances. They help bring electricity to homes. In the middle of the power lines are wires called electric conductors. They are usually made of copper, steel, and aluminum. Electricity travels along the conductors. The wires are covered in protective layers of plastic or rubber. The size of power lines depend on whether they are moving a lot of electricity or a little.
