Poseidon and the Chimera
One of Poseidon’s children was Triton. He was a merman or half-man, half-fish. Triton was the herald of Poseidon. This meant that he was the god’s messenger. Triton carried a conch trumpet that stilled ocean waves. The god Triton was likely the inspiration for Ariel’s father, King Triton, in The Little Mermaid.
