New England food taste test
Lake Champlain is a large lake that creates part of the boundary between New York and Vermont. It is over 100 miles (161 km) long and more than 13 miles (21 km) wide at the widest point. The lake was named for the French explorer Samuel de Champlain, who traveled there in 1609. Now it is used for activities including swimming, boating, and fishing in the summer and ice-skating in the winter. The lake’s size has given it the nickname of the “sixth” Great Lake.
