TITLE

This choir is singing part of the Requiem, one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s most famous pieces. Mozart wrote many types of music. Some pieces, like the Requiem, were performed by large groups of people. Other music was for just one instrument. Much of this solo music is for the piano.

Mozart began writing the Requiem in October 1791. A requiem is a piece of music that is played during a funeral. It has several sections. Mozart only finished some of them before he died in December. Another composer completed the work. That composer’s version is often performed today.
