The eastern Roman Empire, also called the Byzantine’s Empire lasted a thousand years after western Rome fell. At the Byzatnine’s largest, it controlled land from the Middle East to southern Spain. The people of the empire were known for creating a new Christian church. They also built wonderful domed buildings with mosaics the size of walls.
