The tablet in front of the Sphinx tells a story. It says that Egyptian pharaoh Thutmose IV fell asleep in the shadow of the Sphinx’s head. At that time, sand covered the rest of the Sphinx. Then, the Sphinx talked to Thutmose in a dream. The Sphinx said Thutmose would be pharaoh if he dug the Sphinx out.
