After losing their mothers in the wild, these young orangutans have to learn important life skills in special ways.
Orangutan means “man of the forest” in the Malay language. Forest habitats where orangutans live are being cut down very quickly. People are using the land for palm oil farming. There are protected forests on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra, but some people still cut down those forests. The loss of habitat is the main reason orangutans are endangered.
