Jaguars were worshipped by the Aztecs. The Aztecs lived in central and southern Mexico. They respected the powerful jaguar. One group of fighters in the Aztec military were called the Jaguar Warriors. They dressed like jaguars when they went to battle. They were strong and fierce fighters.
