Some people set up a nativity scene during the Christmas Season. This decoration has many small figures. It tells the story of Jesus’s birth. According to the Bible, Jesus was born in Bethlehem. An angel appeared and told shepherds the baby was the son of God. A bright star shone above him. Wise men saw this star. They followed it to bring the baby gifts.

Some children have Advent calendars. These count down the days to Christmas. The calendars often begin on December 1. And many have small gifts or sweets for each day. In these calendars, children open one drawer each day. They get the treat inside.
