Complete metamorphosis has four distinct stages. These are egg, larva, pupa, and adult. Insects that go through complete metamorphosis include butterflies, moths, bees, wasps, ants, and beetles. Insects that go through incomplete metamorphosis do not have a pupal stage. Some of these insects include grasshoppers and dragonflies.
