The Greek myth of Demeter’s revenge.

Like many ancient groups, most of Greek life revolved around making sure there was enough food to eat. Greek farmers grew grains, beans, chickpeas, olives, figs, pears, pomegranates, leafy greens, and nets. They also kept sheep, pigs, goats, and chicken. Animals gave meat, milk, and material for wool and leather. Gifts to the gods were often things the ancient Greeks grew and created.
