The capital of Scotland is considered one of the most haunted places in the world. But not all the ghost stories tell of humans who perished long ago in Edinburgh. Greyfriars Bobby was a Skye terrier whose owner, John Grey, died in 1858. Each night, Bobby slept on his master’s grave and refused to leave. The caretakers of the graveyard began to bring Bobby food and care for him. When Bobby died in 1872, he was buried near his owner. Today, a statue of Bobby stands outside the graveyard gates. People walking by claim to hear little barks. They look around to find that there are no dogs in site. Many believe that the beloved Bobby is still around.
