TITLE

Flat shapes are also known as plane shapes. Plane shapes include squares, rectangles, triangles, and circles. Some plane shapes have sides and corners. Others are round. But all plane shapes have an area. This boy is putting multiple plane shapes together to make a bigger shape.

A unit square has a side length of 1. But one what? The unit people choose depends on the size of the area they want to measure. For example, they might use inches to measure small areas. Bigger areas are measured in feet. Really large areas may be measured in miles.
