Ocelot: The Mini Jaguar

The ancient Aztecs, who lived in what is now Mexico, thought ocelots were very special. The word “ocelot” comes from the Aztec word ōcēlōtl. They usually used the word when talking about jaguars. Ocelots look like smaller versions of jaguars. Aztecs believed these animals could move between the human and spirit worlds.
