In the Chinese creation myth, the giant Pangu became the world we know today.

Yudi, the Jade Emperor, needed help making a potion. He decided humans were too selfish to help. Animals were better. Yudi came to Earth and asked animals for food. The monkey, fox, and rabbit brought him food. But rabbit brought grass, which Yudi could not eat. Rabbit offered himself instead. Yudi was touched by rabbit’s selflessness and decided Rabbit should make the potion. Yudi brought Rabbit to the moon to make the potions. Rabbit became known as Jade Rabbit.
