Montezuma Castle National Monument in Arizona shows the culture and abilities of the American Indians who lived in the region. The castle is a 20-room structure built into the side of a desert cliff by the Sinagua people. Scientists believe the Sinagua built the castle between 1100 and 1350 CE. The building is made of limestone and mud. For unknown reasons, the Sinagua left Montezuma Castle and the area by 1425 CE.
