TITLE

When people flip a switch, electricity flows to a lamp. The lamp turns on. Many other items in a home use electricity. They include TVs and toasters. People plug a cord into an outlet. The cord brings electricity to the device. People can push a button to turn it on.

Power plants change other forms of energy into electricity. Hydropower starts with the energy of moving water. Lots of water rushes over a wheel-like turbine. The turbine spins. It moves a generator. The generator produces electricity. Other power plants make electricity from wind or sunlight.
