Mirrors reflect light. They show an image of the objects in front of them. This girl is using a mirror to draw on her face. The mirror shows her what she is doing and how she looks.

People use flat mirrors to see their reflections. But there are other kinds of mirrors. Convex mirrors curve outward in the middle. This curve makes the image in the mirror smaller than the object itself. It also lets the mirror show more. Cars have convex mirrors. They let drivers see more of what is behind them.
